Sentenced to natural life without the possibility of parole at age 18
due to FALSE evidence of aiding and abetting
a premeditated murder committed by her former boyfriend.
In 2007, a jailhouse snitch, the main witness against her, came forward and
recanted ALL testimony ADMITTING SHE LIED at Melissa's trial in order to
receive leniency for her own crimes,
and
Melissa passed a polygraph exam absolving her of all knowledge
of premeditation.
For more than 23 years, Melissa has felt great remorse about her presence during this
crime and that she helped the assailant cover up the murder despite his threats to kill
her and her family if she did not do so. She has paid the price for her part in this
action and earned the opportunity to take her rightful place in society
and to contribute her skills and talents to helping others.
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT HER SPENDING THE REST OF HER LIFE IN PRISON
because of witness perjury and ineffective court appointed counsel!
