You should know that when you add an inmate as a friend, or send an inmate a message through our website that your postal mailing address you provided during sign up and your email address will be provided to the inmate. This is because inmates do not have access to the internet or PrisonInmates.com. There only means of communication is through the US Postal Service or through a form based email service called Corrlinks.com. If you do not wish to give out your personal mailing address, we suggest you do not use the Free messaging service offered on this website and instead sign up for the Mail Forwarding Service at EmailingAPrisoner.com. With this service you can use their mailing address for inmates to write you at and your messages will be scanned and uploaded to your account. EmailingAPrisoner.com is a paid service.

PrisonInmates.com never distributes information about our customers to any outside parties other than the inmates the member chooses to correspond with. Inmate Supporters on our site will never be contacted directly by companies or persons outside of PrisonInmates.com other than the inmates they choose to correspond with. When you do business with PrisonInmates.com, your information remains completely private. Only in cases of policy or law violation will information be given to third parties. This too is done to protect you.
